Master of Yachts Limited
Training Programme
MCA Recognised -
STCW'95 Basic Safety Training is required and is available
in the week prior to this course.
You're at the right place if you want to advance your
megayacht career. Our Offshore course is the best value
in price and time efficiency plus you'll get the highest
standards of maritime instruction anywhere for professional
deck crew. Our instructors have worked in the megayacht
centres of the world.
This is an intensive course exclusively designed for
experienced crew with sufficient on the water experience
of 3000 nm, 50 days logged on board and 48 night watch
hours and holding an STCW'95 Basic Safety Training.
(If you don't hold the STCW'95 Basic Safety Training
you can do it here the week before - how's that for
time efficient!) |

The Yachtmaster Unlimited Certificate indicates that the
holder has sufficient knowledge of celestial navigation,
based on air navigation tables, to globally navigate
using a sextant. Successful pupils will be issued with
a theory course completion certificate and then within
1 year must submit their practical passage plan to qualify
for their final ticket. To register for this course
you require a Yachtmaster Limited certificate plus
completion of a 600 nm rhumb line passage.

Approved Engine Course
MCA RecognisedWe
are the only academy in the southern hemisphere that
provides the AEC - the basic qualification you need
for a career as an engineer in the megayacht industry.
This is also essential if you wish to proceed to higher
engineering qualifications. As a Captain or Engineer
of a smaller yacht you'll find your job prospects greatly
enhanced with AEC qualification plus a Deck Officer
certification (the basic 4 week course) on your CV.
We
are currently developing further engineering modules
starting with the MEOL Oral Preparation followed by
the balance of the shore based courses for Y4 certification. |

Advance your career after Umlimited or Limited to become
an Officer of the Watch on larger vessels of 15metres
and over. PYT is accredited by the MCA to offer all
the shorebased modules for the OOW (Yachts) educational
programme. These include the following four modules:
GMDSS, Advanced Sea Survival, Navigation & Radar
and GSK. Should you not need the full package please
enquire about doing individual modules.

Chief Mate Modules
All the modules for Chief Mate Yachts (3000t):
You've found the best price and the academy that will
do it's best to fit in with your schedule. An OOW qualification
is required however it can be packaged with this Chief
Mate course to save time.
The student has to complete the MCA OOW Oral examination
to be able to submit the required three modules for
Chief Mate. Once the oral is completed, certificates
for Yachtmaster Unlimited, Advanced Fire Fighting and Medical
First Aid must be submitted to the MCA for the final
ticket. |

courses to advance their careers within the Mega Yacht
industry. We are now an MCA approved Master 500gt course provider. The course contents are; Advanced Navigation and Radar, Stability, Business Law, Meteorology and Seamanship.
Should you not need the full package please enquire about doing individual modules. Students must hold the OOW Certificate and have sea time amounting to 12 months.
